We hope to inspire your creativity with the projects we share here. We are home schoolers and love to be different, learn new things and have fun. We try to be as open minded as possible and when people say you should do something in a certain way, we ask why? Why should we follow suit? We are all unique and process things in different ways, so we should be free to express ourselves in our own way.
Check out our About Us page for more information about us and what we do.
I hope this brings you creative joy and inspiration.
As home schoolers, we love to find new and different ways to learn that are fun, with the potential of being messy. Every year we spend the whole of December focused on Christmas. We started a little early this year, though.
We started with painting using acrylic paints and canvases. I showed them how to paint stripes in one colour that go from light to dark shades. Once they had dried they each added some items to create a Christmas themed piece of art. They were really focused on it and thoroughly enjoyed the activity. I feel they achieve better pieces of work when they know beforehand what they are painting, rather than telling them to just paint anything.
We bought some Christmas craft making kits from the pound shop recently and they gave them a go. We chose the reindeer and sleigh and the snowman kits. They even followed the instructions themselves this time and only asked for help if they got stuck. These were just pure simple fun with an end result of having items to add to our Christmas decorations.
I have included pictures below of our results (For a description, just hover over a picture). I have separated them out into Korey, Kameron, Kayleigh and mine (Natasha). There are also some pictures of our art supplies that we used.
