We hope to inspire your creativity with the projects we share here. We are home schoolers and love to be different, learn new things and have fun. We try to be as open minded as possible and when people say you should do something in a certain way, we ask why? Why should we follow suit? We are all unique and process things in different ways, so we should be free to express ourselves in our own way.

Crochet Kids C2C Pixel Art Graph Projects (pictures below)
I absolutely love the c2c crochet technique. When I first used it on Kameron’s Action Man Blanket, I was hooked (literally)! When you complete that first creation using this technique your mind starts whirling with all the possibilities of what you can create. This led to my Crochet Campervan Pram Blanket and a few other projects.
My kids were intrigued by my use of graph paper to create the pictures for each project. When I worked out how to create them in Microsoft Excel, I thought this would make a great school project. I gave them different topics and graph size to work with, and taught them how to make the pixel art graphs. I then turned them into c2c projects. Kayleigh also helped me with the projects. She made the inlays for each project because she knows how to operate the sewing machine much quicker than I do.
Korey chose two of his pictures and wanted one as a pillow and one as a bag. He picked his Stampy and Squid (from Minecraft) and his flower pictures for me to use. Kameron wanted two pillows, and he chose his Minecraft Creeper and his Minecraft Skeleton pictures. Kayleigh wanted one pillow and one bag/tablet case. She chose her heart with a K on it and her picture of a girl. She uses the bag to store her drawing supplies for her “draw a picture a day” challenge she is currently working on. The PICTURES BELOW show the graphs and the crochet results.
I worked the bags in UK Half Treble Crochet/htr [US Half Double Crochet/hdc] and I worked the pillows in UK Treble Crochet/tr [US Double Crochet/dc].
Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky (shade - various).
(Less than)1 x 100g (3.5oz/149yds/136m) ball.
Weight category: UK Chunky [US 5/Bulky/Chunky].
Tension/gauge: 14 stitches x 20 rows = 4″ (10cm) on size 6mm/UK 4 [US J/10] hook.
The crochet hook I used was a 6mm/UK 4 [US J/10].
I would give the Paintbox Yarns a 5 out of 5 for the following reasons:-
- It was easy to work and worked up quickly;
- There is a large choice of colours available;
- The feel of it was extremely soft;
- The cost of yarn is very reasonable - I paid about £2.25 per 100g ball and you get a lot on a ball;
- Would I use this yarn again? YES, DEFINITELY.
I hope this brings you #creativejoyandinspiration.
