We hope to inspire your creativity with the projects we share here. We are home schoolers and love to be different, learn new things and have fun. We try to be as open minded as possible and when people say you should do something in a certain way, we ask why? Why should we follow suit? We are all unique and process things in different ways, so we should be free to express ourselves in our own way.

Knitted Action Man Jumper
This jumper was on the knitting pattern (pictured above) that came with the Action Man tent pattern from “dollyknitts” on eBay.co.uk. I found it relatively easy to follow. Although, I had a bit of difficulty with the look of one of the sleeves. The pattern instructions seemed to make one of the arms curve upwards but not do the same on the other. I had to make adjustments on a second one I knitted and it came out better. That being said, the jumpers fit Kameron’s Action Man & GI Joe figures perfectly. Kameron was very pleased that I had finally made the clothes in the picture on the pattern instructions. There are some others that I have still yet to make, but I am getting there slowly.
We love Action Man that much that Kameron and Korey have a blog about the History of Action Man - http://actionmanonline.blogspot.co.uk/
The pattern called for working in rib stitch and stockinette/stocking stitch, both made up with a combination of knit and purl stitches. These are some of the first stitches you learn as a beginner. It was also very quick to complete even for a beginner.

James C. Brett Top Value DK (shade - Beige 0843).
1 x 100g (3.5oz/317yds/290m) ball.
Weight category: UK DK [US 3/Light Worsted/DK].
Tension/gauge: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 4″ (10cm) on size 4mm/UK 8 [US 6] knitting needles.
The knitting needles I used were 3mm/UK 11 [US 3mm] and UK 3.5mm [US 4]. The pattern called for smaller knitting needles but I didn’t have any so I chose slightly bigger ones and the jumper still fitted the 12″ Action Man & GI Joe figures.
I would give the James C. Brett Top Value DK yarn a 4 out of 5 for the following reasons:-
- It was extremely easy to work.
- There is a large choice of colours available;
- The feel of it is very soft once washed. Although, for large projects is does get very heavy.
- I think if you are looking for a quality budget yarn this is one of the best yarns on the market for price, colour choice, quality, multiple uses and quantity on a ball.
- The cost of yarn is very cost effective - I paid about £1.65 per 100g ball.
- Would I use this yarn again? YES, DEFINITELY.
I hope this brings you creative joy and inspires you to start your own yarn-tastic journey.
