We hope to inspire your creativity with the projects we share here. We are home schoolers and love to be different, learn new things and have fun. We try to be as open minded as possible and when people say you should do something in a certain way, we ask why? Why should we follow suit? We are all unique and process things in different ways, so we should be free to express ourselves in our own way.

Check out our About Us page for more information about us and what we do.

I hope this brings you creative joy and inspiration.

Writing Poems

Writing poems is a big deal in our house. It is a creative way to have fun with words, and we really do get crazy on a daily basis. We make up silly ditties, rhyme words and make up ridiculous, funny songs.

I used to hate the idea of writing poems when I was younger to the point where I don’t think I ever wrote any. Not even at school. I just don’t think I was inspired enough to take pen to paper. My creativity as a child involved making mess more than any writing. I was also more of an out-doorsy type of child.

When we started home schooling the children, my creativity was sparked. Especially, when we discovered that my daughter, Kayleigh, was fantastic at writing poems. This really did inspire me and the words started flowing. I didn’t apply any specific technique to writing the poems, I just had fun with it.

Kayleigh seems to have a natural ability for writing poems, that has been flourishing brilliantly. We feel that this is due to her having the freedom to express herself without judgement and be who she wants to be.

Kameron and Korey both come up with excellent rhymes and ditties. They really make us all laugh and smile when they create something new.

I have included some of our poems below that show what fun we have being creative with words.

I hope this brings you creative joy and inspires you to start your own creative journey.

Please share and connect with us on social media.  I would love to hear from you.

Let’s get writing!

I thought you said  By Natasha (Ooh, look at me!)

"Por Favor, dad!"

I thought you said

But "Hop aboard, dad!"

Is what you actually said.

"Sausage mind"

I thought you said

But "satisfied"

Is what you actually said.

"How about some woolly cake?"

I thought you said

But "How long will it take?"

Is what you actually said.

“Farting lady”

I thought you said

But “far too lazy”

Is what you actually said.

“I love you”

I thought you said

But “it’s above you”

Is what you actually said.

“Bum child”

I thought you said

But “Farmer Giles”

Is what you actually said.

“Poos Farmer Joe”

I thought you said

But “ Who’s Farmer Giles”

Is what you actually said.

“Are you a Dorito?”

I thought you said

But “Are you alright, dude?”

Is what you actually said.

Christmas Carols By Kayleigh (Ooh, look at me!)

Christmas carols,

Sing me one,

Deck the halls is so much fun.

Or maybe Rudolph is quite near,

So lets sing his song right here.

Is that bells, or am I wrong?

Jingle bells is the song,

We should sing all night long.

Christmas carols,

Sing me one,

Because they are so much fun.

Toilet By Natasha (Ooh, look at me!)

You are something I sit on

To do my business

Sometimes slow

Sometimes with a whizz.

You're hard and cold

Underneath my bottom

Why I'm here

I haven't forgotten.

I tinkle or I squeeze

Sometimes I strain

If it doesn’t come out

It can be such a pain.

Whatever the reason

For my being here

I drop my pants

Without any fear.

For it is you

That I am meant to use

A toilet

Is where I do my wees and poos.

Seasons By Kayleigh (Ooh, look at me!)

Seasons are the greatest things,

That make us all dance and sing,

They go from being merry and bright,

To icy cold and snowy white,

Summer, autumn, winter, spring,

Are all full of happy things.

Castles and Battles By Kayleigh (Ooh, look at me!)

Castles stand tall and strong,

It should last very long,

Thorny brambles grow around,

I hear footsteps on the ground.

Did an army raid this fort?

Did we do what we ought?

Protect it,

Resurrect it,

And make it grand,

Or did it crumble in the sand?

Did it have a big bomb shelter?

Were the steps like a helter-skelter?

Did a king or queen live here?

Did they tremble and quake in fear?

Did they loose the great big battle?

Or did they win without much hassle?

Who knows what it used to be,

Just imagine and you will see.
